Encounters

Here is a map of our encounters with dolphins on the west coast during 2006. We had three encounters around the Sound of Barra (3rd, 4th 5th August); one off the North coast of Mull (24th August) and one in Kilbrannan Sound near Arran (17th September).

Sightings

The map below shows the locations of sightings of bottlenose dolphins reported to the Hebridean Whale and Dolphin Trust during 2006. The plot shows a southern bias in the sightings indicating that this year the dolphins have been concentrating their movements south of Skye around Mull and Argyll. We are keen to increase the number of reports to the HWDT and if you live in a coastal location and would like to get involved please get in touch.
